The show is one of the largest air and water shows in the US. The exhibition is free and attracts crowds from all over the midwest. The water show starts things off in the morning while the death-defying air show takes place over Lake Michigan during the afternoon and features manuevers by the Blue Angels, the Northern Lights Aerobatic Team, the Red Baron Stearman Squadron and the U.S. Navy Leapfrogs. Held in June, this is a non-stop gospel music festival. The best thing about the events offered in Grant Park is that most of them, including this one, are free!
Chicago International Film Festival

This film fesival features the obscure films that are not brought to you by any of the other mainstream theaters. There are usually a few great finds each year in the Festival. A children's film festival also runs at the same time.
Chicago Jazz Festival

DOWNTOWN. For over 20 years this festival held has entertained Chicagoans with the finest local and national jazz performers. The enormous festival runs during Labor Day Weekend, and is the largest of its kind in the world. The event encompasses several genres and has something to offer everyone. It has the best price tag for entrance---FREE! A must if you are planning to be in the area, and even if you aren't you should make plans to attend!
